Wi-Fi Networks
Our wireless network is designed to balance accessibility for visitors with security for technical systems.
The setup is divided into public/cast networks and technical networks.
1. Public & Cast Wi-Fi
The following networks are available for general use by guests, cast, and crew:
| SSID | VLAN | Authentication | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| NDWifi | 10 | WPA2 / WPA3 Personal | General public and visitor access |
- Both networks support legacy devices as well as Wi-Fi 6E (6 GHz) for modern hardware.
- Passwords are shared as needed, and these networks are not intended for sensitive or administrative systems.
2. Technical Wi-Fi (Enterprise Access)
To improve security and manage access more effectively, technical networks are being consolidated under RADIUS authentication.
| SSID | VLAN | Authentication | Access Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| NDTechWifi | Varies (see below) | WPA2 / WPA3 Enterprise | Technical systems and admin devices |
VLAN Assignments (per user or device)
| User / Device | VLAN | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ND Tech Manager | 20 | Full technical access |
| ND Manager | 30 | General management access |
| ND Camera Viewer | 80 | Read-only access for monitoring devices |
| ND Guest Technical | 90 | Temporary or limited access for visiting engineers |
Each user or device receives individual credentials, allowing:
- Fine-grained access control
- Easy revocation of accounts if compromised
- Separation of traffic by VLAN for better security and performance
General Notes
- All technical Wi-Fi connections use RADIUS authentication managed by the central server.
- Certificates and credentials must not be shared between users.
- For equipment that cannot use WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, contact the technical team for a wired or VLAN-isolated connection.
