Network Overview
The Neuadd Dyfi network uses Ubiquiti UniFi equipment to provide wired and wireless connectivity throughout the venue.
The system is managed via the UniFi Controller (Cloud Gateway Max) and supports multiple VLANs for different technical and public uses.
🧭 Topology Overview
Cloud Gateway Max
- Located in the back room cupboard
- Receives internet from two BT modems (dual WAN setup)
- Manages routing, VLANs, DHCP, and RADIUS authentication
Switches
- Pro Max 16 PoE (x3)
- Main switch in stage networking cupboard (core switch)
- Another switch is underneath the main switch to extend capacity
- One in pigeon loft to support devices in that area
Access Points
- U7 Pro (x2) and U7 Lite (x2)
- One in back rooms
- One near the stage
- One in side rooms
- One in pigeon loft
🔌 VLANs and Segmentation
The following VLANs are used across all switches and access points:
| VLAN | Purpose |
|---|---|
| 10 | Public Wi-Fi (NDWifi) |
| 20 | ND Tech Manager |
| 30 | ND Manager |
| 80 | ND Camera Viewer |
| 90 | ND Guest Technical |
| 100 | Cast & Crew Wi-Fi |
Traffic is routed and firewalled between VLANs via the Cloud Gateway Max, ensuring secure separation between public and technical systems.
